YOGA, Meditation & Jewelry

I suppose I have always been one of those people who is searching for meaning, answers to the "big" questions. In my teens and twenties this led me on a journey through study -philosophy, theology, psychology and just about any other "ology" out there. At this time I also discovered the benefits of physical exercise. I loved aerobics and even taught aerobics at a health club part-time while working as a counselor with teens in foster care.

I discovered yoga when my daughter, now an adult, was a little girl. She was diagnosed with scoliosis and someone suggested yoga because of its benefits for the spine and alignment.  The yoga did help my daughter and has proved to become an integral part of my health and vitality. My life became extremely challenging when my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. My yoga and meditation helped me care for him in my home, raise two kids , and work. The benefits of yoga and meditation are endless. It has become my passion to expand my knowledge,  deepen my practice and share what I learn with my students.

I am certified at the ERYT 500 level wth Yoga Alliance. I completed a 500 hr Yoga course with Lillah Shwartz which included a therapeutic module for back care. I have also been privileged to study with Roger Cole, Elise Miller, Tias Little, and many other amazing teachers. I have received special training to work with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. I am a representative of the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation. I teach at many ALF's and Nursing Facilities and am experienced in working with Arthritis, MS, TBI, Huntington's, Stroke, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's.

I completed my level one training in Kundalini Yoga and am certified through KRI.

Prior to teaching yoga, I  worked in the fields of Special Education, social service, and Counseling. I hold a masters degree in Counseling.

I started making jewelry as a therapy to cope with some health challenges. It is the ultimate mindfulness practice. I use gem stones and natural wire to create unique pieces. The stone are physically and energetically cleaned. Each piece is unique and made with love.
